Within departmental guidelines, reviews explanations of benefits (EOB's), compares payments with charge information, prepares and processes adjustments based on review of EOB's for non standard Fee Schedule and for nonpayment or underpayments. Maintains reporting of trends for billing errors, down-coding and other carrier specific practices.

Representative/Team Member Duties:
- Reconciles and posts payments to accounts receivable systems
- Processes adjustments on a line item basis
- Reviews EOB's for non-standard Fee Schedule reductions and for non-payments or under payment trends based upon carrier practices that may affect reimbursement.
 RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED required
2 years bookkeeping, accounts receivable, Collector, Biller, or Patient Billing Resolution experience or any combination of the above, with both years in a healthcare environment within the last 4 years.

JOB SUMMARY:

The is responsible for reporting and monitoring the Region’s financial activities in compliance with legal accounting requirements and appropriate ethical standards. This includes completion and analysis of monthly general ledger transactions and revenue recognition.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

 Provide support for Operational Managers.  Assist in development of branch budgets.         Review branch budgets with Operational Manager for accuracy and completeness. Prepare monthly P&L Forecasts for future periods (FLASH REPORTS). Prepare monthly management discussion and analysis report for District Management. Assist with monthly close activities. (Revenue, Inventory, Fixed Assets). Job Cost and Project Margin analysis and review with Operational Management. Interact with Branch Managers and District Managers Prepare ad hoc reports as needed. Manage Accounts Receivable. Manage Clerical Admin staff. Review Expense transactions Prepare and file sales taxes State pre-qualifications

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  

Assist in financial statement audit, bank examinations and tax preparation Light travel may be required Other duties as assigned.  Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance/ Economics or Business Administration, MBA /CPA is preferred.

• Minimum of 5-year experience in accounting or finance in a fast paced, deadline driven construction environment.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint and/or Access).

• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics - NAV (Navision) and/or Jet Reports are a real plus..

• Must be detail oriented with strong organizational, time management, quantitative and analytical skills.

• Strong skills in mathematics, statistics, spreadsheets and data mining.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to complete projects timely and accurately is critical.

• Ability and desire to take initiatives and work independently.

Associate's Degree in a healthcare related program with a minimum of one of the following credentials: RHIT or CCS or CPC, OR Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related program with a minimum of one of the following credentials: RHIA or CCS or CPC, OR Bachelor's Degree in any field with a CCS credential. Minimum of five years CPT-4 surgical coding and/or ICD-9 diagnosis and procedure coding for outpatient and/or inpatient and/or MS-DRG assignment. Knowledge of and experience with the electronic medical record and billing systems required.

Other Requirements:

Demonstrates expert job knowledge and applies current coding and billing regulations, policies, processes and procedures with effective decision-making and problem solving skills. Along with : Abstracts, interprets and reviews medical record documentation to assign appropriate coding accurate CPT-4 procedure and may assign ICD-9 diagnosis codes for procedures performed in the operating room as well as complex services performed in a procedure room (for example, Interventional Radiology). Assigns appropriate modifiers. Clarifies physician documentation as appropriate. Understands and applies medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, and disease processes. Demonstrates knowledge of sequencing diagnoses and procedure codes outlined in the AMA CPT instructions/guidelines, CPT Assistant, ICD-9-CM Official Coding Guidelines, CMS guidelines and other resources as applicable.
