We are currently seeking an experienced to join our team of professionals in Santa Paula / Valencia, CA.

 

Job Description:

This is an officer position that provides support to Loan Officers related to the processing, underwriting, administration, monitoring and reporting of a diverse portfolio of commercial loans including loans and lines of credit to businesses and commercial real estate loans. 

 

They require good general knowledge of credit, loan approval, documentation, servicing, and reporting for all types of lending and related regulatory compliance requirements. They contribute to the Bank’s goals and objectives by supporting the origination and maintenance of loans in accordance with Bank policies and procedures and monitoring compliance with Bank policy and applicable laws and regulations. They additionally provide support to the Loan Services Department when needed to cover unexpected absences.

 

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Interview loan applicants and collect loan applications and related documentation.   Ensure loan documentation is complete, accurate and in compliance with all loan approval, policies and procedures. Obtain and review title reports and exceptions for final review by Loan Officers. Follow to obtain, analyze and report financial, credit and other information for monitoring of credit risks and early identification of problem loans.   Spread financial statements and tax returns and draft Credit Approval Memorandums for review and completion by Loan Officers.  Build and maintain loan/credit files, type general correspondence, order credit reports, obtain personal and business profiles, conduct UCC searches, research Geo Code, conduct UCC searches, conduct business entity and property tax searches, do flood searches, order loan documents, arrange for signatures on loan documents, order appraisals and environmental reports, and complete credit file maintenance. Maintain tickler report for financial statements, tax returns, asset-based lending reports, site inspections, etc.  Monitor the timely processing of renewals, extensions and other modifications.   Conduct site inspections and interviews of customer business locations and collateral.  Monitor progress of construction projects and budgets, document inspections and progress and approve payments in accordance with loan approvals and agreements and bank policies and procedures.   For commercial real estate loans, ensure tenant lease exhibits are accurate, complete, and fully executed including but not limited to: tenant lease assignments, estoppel certificates and subordination and landlord waivers.  Ensure Phase I and other assessments/reports related to potential contamination of real are obtained as required. Monitor leasing or sales progress and operating results compared to appraisals. Participate in annual mini-perm review and provide internal analysis for changes in performance and/or market value.  Monitor the existing portfolio to retain and develop good customer relationships, cross selling Bank products and services.  Deliver excellent customer service with good response times and accurate information.  Conduct collection calls and maintain delinquencies to a minimum under current economic influences. 

 

Additional Responsibilities:

Participate in community affairs and non-profits for promotion of bank, sourcing of business, community investment and general market and business information gathering. Keep abreast of new developments in lending and banking regulations. Prepare management reports as required. Assist in responding to external examinations by regulators and audits. Adhere to Bank policies and procedures and support management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Exhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor.  Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality, and accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned.  Requirements Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role. Basic knowledge of financial and credit analysis and all credit related laws and regulations and thorough understanding of standards, practices, methodologies, and regulatory requirements. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the telephone.  Active listening skills. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team.  Effectiveness interfacing directly with members of the Board of Directors and banking examiners. Good ability to prioritize tasks and manage time.  Good analytical ability.  Good problem-solving skills.  Word processing and computer database skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Intermediate to advanced expertise in Outlook, Word and Excel.  Excellent customer service skills and sales skills.
