Under limited direct supervision, this position assures that the BASF North America Group Companies for certain Profit and Loss Functional Reporting lines in either Special Items, Other Operating Cost, Non-operating Analyses are maintained in accordance with BASF SE reporting guidelines, or IFRS. Additionally, this position ensures the timely analysis of general ledger accounts and oversees the reporting of a BASF operating unit in Mexico, Central America, or the Caribbean.

Responsible for coordinating, developing, and reviewing the monthly BASF N.A. reporting unit financial data files (CONDOR) utilized in the Corporation’s global consolidation process to ensure that it meets BASF SE reporting guidelines. Development and analysis of Quarterly Supplemental Information schedules for key BASF North America Group companies for Other Operating Cost, and Non-operating analyses for reporting to management. Responsible for ensuring that the Corporation’s foreign currency translations as they relate to the defined Mexico or Central American unit is correct and completed in a timely manner. Development and reporting of annual footnotes for all of the BASF North America Group companies for Other Operating Cost, and Non-operating including flux analysis with commentary which can be provided to management and BASF SE. Analysis, communication and coordination of inter-company transactions for elimination reporting relating to respective subsidiary ledgers. Preparation of Other Operating Cost, and Non-operating annual Financial Statement Review meeting presentation schedules for the major operating companies of BASF North America. Responsible for researching, and coordinating with management the development of responses for accounting issues associated with the Mexico or Central American unit that are raised by the Business groups and BASF SE. Monthly Account Analysis and Journal Entry Processing for accounts assigned to the position. Special projects and ad hoc requests as asked for by management. Support the FRC (Financial and Reporting Compliance) process as it relates to the area of responsibility.

Work environment:

Primarily works independently to coordinate on a day to day basis the development of information between the Mexico or Central American unit and the NTF/A consolidation and reporting group. Receives general guidance from the Manager of Corporate Accounting. Work is subject to review and approval from the Manager of Corporate Accounting.

Business environment:

Requires the utilization of the Corporation’s SAP system (Financial and Operational ledger) as well as the BASF SE’s CONDOR consolidation reporting system, and associated databases. Will have responsibility to maintain a current knowledge of enacted or emerging international financial reporting standards. Requires the knowledge and ability to effectively utilize Internet research tools.

Internal and external relationships:

The incumbent has responsibilities which would require interaction with all levels of the Corporate Controllers Group (NTF) as well as directors and staff of the various functional areas within BASF Corp. Based on the direction of the Manager of Corporate Accounting the incumbent would have interaction with Corporate Assistant Controller and Directors. Fair Lending / CRA Specialist - Corporate Compliance - Minneapol


Job Description
Assists the Corporate Compliance Department with the administration of an effective fair lending and/or CRA self-monitoring program.  Generates standard and special purpose reports for analyzing the bank’s CRA and/or fair lending performance.  Conducts periodic tests of transactions and policies, procedures and practices to monitor the level of compliance with fair lending laws.
 
Generates standard and special purpose fair lending or CRA data analysis reports, using CRA and/or Fair Lending software. Performs fair lending/comparative file reviews or other FFIEC fair lending examination procedures to determine the level of compliance with fair lending laws. Documents the results of review, including apparent violations of laws, regulations, and exceptions to policy. recommends corrective action. Documents standard operating procedures for conducting data analysis and file reviews or other reviews, maintaining work papers and issuing reports. Assists in the review of new or modified bank products and all changes in policies, procedures systems, and controls.  Maintains current awareness of legislative developments and a working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations as they relate to consumer compliance, including fair lending and CRA.  Ability to research, analyze and communicate the impact of these provisions on bank operations, including policies, procedures, new and existing products, forms, advertising and promotional materials with assistance from a supervisor, as necessary. Researches fair lending and CRA issues, provides interpretations and clarifications to bank personnel (in conjunction with the Compliance Manager, CRA or Fair Lending Analyst, General Counsel and Director of Corporate Compliance). Writes and edits written materials (e.g. status reports, policies, procedures, programs, committee agendas, meeting materials, committee minutes, etc.).  Assists the Corporate Compliance staff with other duties (including administrative duties) and projects, as required. Tracks the receipt of periodic reports and pricing changes from management, follows up on delinquent items as necessary.  Retains records in accordance with the record retention schedule and maintains the inventory of fair lending related electronic and hard copy files.
Job Requirements
Four-year college degree or equivalent job-related experience. At least two years of compliance-related experience as an auditor or file reviewer. Experience as an underwriter, loan closer, loan processor, or lender is also acceptable.  Superior understanding and competency with variety of software: Word and Excel.  Knowledge of banking, the internal structure of a bank, elements of bank operations and services. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.  Solid interpersonal skills necessary to interact with bank employees, and management.  Organizational skills needed to handle work in an efficient manner.  High degree of initiative and strong ability to meet principal accountabilities with limited direction and oversight.  
Preferred Qualifications       
College courses in statistics. One to three years of database management experience or experience with loan origination or loan servicing systems as an analyst or programmer. Understanding and competency with variety of software: Access or Oracle Discoverer.   About TCF Bank

Employee Type :  Full-Time Industry :  Retail Manages Others :  No Job Type :  Accounting Education :  4 Year Degree Experience :  3 to 5 years Post Date :  5/10/2012  Description The position is responsible for providing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance process guidance to Business Process Owner(s), Sub-Process owner(s), and/or control owner(s) on best practices, including documentation standards, guidelines, and strategies as directed by PMO (Project Management Office); Providing Business Process Owner(s) and Sub-Process Owner(s), with training and education on risk and control awareness and identification; Performing initial quality assurance assessment of process documentation, including identification of key risks and key controls, as well as initial assessment of operating design effectiveness of key controls prior to the testing phase; Performing review of process documentation for identification and recording of control issues, including gaps, weaknesses, or deficiencies and communicate/collaborate with Business Process Owner(s) and/or Sub-Process Owner(s) for effective remediation plans; Facilitating communications between Business Process Owner(s) and Sub-Process Owner(s), PMO, and the External Auditor regarding scope and testing plans; Formulating and conducting audit programs in the performance of financial control reviews; Performing fieldwork in accordance with approved audit work program; Preparing audit report, including findings and recommendations, and review results with affected management; Evaluating responses to audit findings to determine reasonableness and suggest follow-up action; Reviewing of the reliability and integrity of financial information and the means used to identify, measure, classify, and report such information; Reviewing of the systems established to ensure compliance with those policies,plans, procedures, laws, and regulations which could have a significant impact on operations, and determine steps taken by organizations to ensure compliance.  RequirementsThe desired qualifications include a 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA or CIA desired. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint). 3-5 years of audit/accounting experience in either industry or public accounting. Previous experience with Sarbanes-Oxley desired. Excellent communication skills. Must be detail-oriented but also able to assess effect on overall control structure. Must be able to build individual audit programs in order to assess the effectiveness of the internal control structure as well as to identify and communicate any efficiencies to be gained. Ability to work in a team environment or individually with minimal supervision. Excellent writing skills. Must be flexible in terms of performing multiple tasks/projects.
