Compliance Auditor

Come and join our growth!  We opened our new Anderson campus, in Bethlehem Township, PA in November of 2011.  Based on tremendous volumes, we are doubling the size of the original emergency room and building out an additional floor.  In 2012, we completed the acquisition of Warren Hospital, located in Phillipsburg, NJ.  

The Network works closely with the Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer (CCPO) in the day to day activities to provide a comprehensive, effective and efficient compliance program for the St. Luke’s University Health Network. The Network , in coordination and assistance with the CCPO, will also promote the SLUHN Code of Conduct and raise awareness regarding standards for ethical behavior.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Compliance Committee:  Serves as a member of the compliance committee.  The Compliance Committee meets regularly and has responsibility for and oversight of the reporting, monitoring, and tracking of all identified compliance issues and subsequent corrective action plans.
Policies and Procedures:  Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises policies, procedures and practices for the general compliance and operations of SLUHN and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.

 

Education and Training:  a) Assists with developing and coordinating a multifaceted educational and training program that focuses on the elements of the Compliance Program including HIPAA and b) Assists with developing other educational programs as well as working to ensure that all appropriate business partners, employees and management are knowledgeable of and comply with, pertinent federal and state standards.

 

Reporting and Corrective Action Plan:  Conducts investigation of alleged violations, as requested by the CCPO. Assists with the development and implementation of a compliance program to ensure effectiveness of controls, monitoring, and risk mitigation. Develops/implements corrective action plans for the resolution of problematic issues.

 

Disciplinary Guidance:  In coordination with CCPO, works to enforce compliance standards through disciplinary processes and works to ensure that disciplinary actions for compliance matters are consistent across SLUHN.

 

Communication:  Institutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program for the organization, including promoting (a) use of a compliance hotline, (b) heightened awareness of SLUHN Code of Conduct, and (c) understanding of new and existing compliance matters and related policies and procedures.  Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a nursing or RHIA management major or equivalent education and/or experience in a health care environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Conduct compliance reviews and assessments. Review production release logs, authorizations and approvals. Work with QC Manager and IT department to prioritize and plan, and develop schedule of regular reviews. Work with the QC Manager, IT department, or other business units to confirm issues and work on solutions. Develop and/or distribute regular and special reporting to Compliance Manager or Senior Management. Make recommendations for improvement in systems or processes. Develop or enhance tools used in support of IRS 1099K requirements and other projects as assigned. Help promote awareness and assist in training or creation of training materials on need to comply with requirements and policies.  Research and/or respond to IT related inquiries from external customers as well as internal associates. Establish and maintain relationships with people (internal and external) where regular communication is needed to perform duties of the job. Assist with Internal and External Audits and Compliance Reviews, especially those related to IT.  Under direction of manager, work with Compliance Specialist(s) to provide research assistance as needed. Special projects or other duties as assigned. Advance NBS’ knowledge through continuing education of current issues related to IT compliance and QC initiatives.  Report as required to senior management enhancing the organizations knowledge in this area.

 


 Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of four years of experience in information systems or technical auditing or compliance preferred. Professional Certification (CISA, CISSP, CISM) or advanced degree preferred.
EDUCATION:  

A four-year college degree in an Information Systems or Technology-related field required.

 

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

Maintain confidential and privacy of information. Knowledge of IT systems processes and security. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients. Ability to pay close attention to details. Organization and analytical skills. Self-directed and able to work independently. Ability to work in a team environment. Knowledge of Payment Card Industry (PCI), Sarbanes-Oxley, NACHA rules, and/or SSAE-16 requirements preferred. The (CA) reports directly to the Executive Director of Compliance (EDC) to conduct utilization and compliance audits for LTC facilities, Hospice and Home Health. The CA performs routine and focused internal compliance investigations, audits and assessments throughout the organization and develops detailed reports with recommendations to the EDC. The CA conducts research on complex issues and summarizes findings as requested by the EDC. Licensure/Certification/Education Requirements

Audits areas of the company Vascular quality system, such as development and manufacturing, as assigned Creates audit checklists based on assigned area, applicable regulations, and pertinent company Vascular quality system/procedural requirements, and obtains approval from Lead Auditor as appropriate. Fair Lending / CRA Specialist - Corporate Compliance - Minneapol


Job Description
Assists the Corporate Compliance Department with the administration of an effective fair lending and/or CRA self-monitoring program.  Generates standard and special purpose reports for analyzing the bank’s CRA and/or fair lending performance.  Conducts periodic tests of transactions and policies, procedures and practices to monitor the level of compliance with fair lending laws.
 
Generates standard and special purpose fair lending or CRA data analysis reports, using CRA and/or Fair Lending software. Performs fair lending/comparative file reviews or other FFIEC fair lending examination procedures to determine the level of compliance with fair lending laws. Documents the results of review, including apparent violations of laws, regulations, and exceptions to policy. recommends corrective action. Documents standard operating procedures for conducting data analysis and file reviews or other reviews, maintaining work papers and issuing reports. Assists in the review of new or modified bank products and all changes in policies, procedures systems, and controls.  Maintains current awareness of legislative developments and a working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations as they relate to consumer compliance, including fair lending and CRA.  Ability to research, analyze and communicate the impact of these provisions on bank operations, including policies, procedures, new and existing products, forms, advertising and promotional materials with assistance from a supervisor, as necessary. Researches fair lending and CRA issues, provides interpretations and clarifications to bank personnel (in conjunction with the Compliance Manager, CRA or Fair Lending Analyst, General Counsel and Director of Corporate Compliance). Writes and edits written materials (e.g. status reports, policies, procedures, programs, committee agendas, meeting materials, committee minutes, etc.).  Assists the Corporate Compliance staff with other duties (including administrative duties) and projects, as required. Tracks the receipt of periodic reports and pricing changes from management, follows up on delinquent items as necessary.  Retains records in accordance with the record retention schedule and maintains the inventory of fair lending related electronic and hard copy files.
Job Requirements
Four-year college degree or equivalent job-related experience. At least two years of compliance-related experience as an auditor or file reviewer. Experience as an underwriter, loan closer, loan processor, or lender is also acceptable.  Superior understanding and competency with variety of software: Word and Excel.  Knowledge of banking, the internal structure of a bank, elements of bank operations and services. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.  Solid interpersonal skills necessary to interact with bank employees, and management.  Organizational skills needed to handle work in an efficient manner.  High degree of initiative and strong ability to meet principal accountabilities with limited direction and oversight.  
Preferred Qualifications       
College courses in statistics. One to three years of database management experience or experience with loan origination or loan servicing systems as an analyst or programmer. Understanding and competency with variety of software: Access or Oracle Discoverer.   About TCF Bank
