Under limited direct supervision, this position assures that the BASF North America Group Companies for certain Profit and Loss Functional Reporting lines in either Special Items, Other Operating Cost, Non-operating Analyses are maintained in accordance with BASF SE reporting guidelines, or IFRS. Additionally, this position ensures the timely analysis of general ledger accounts and oversees the reporting of a BASF operating unit in Mexico, Central America, or the Caribbean.

Responsible for coordinating, developing, and reviewing the monthly BASF N.A. reporting unit financial data files (CONDOR) utilized in the Corporation’s global consolidation process to ensure that it meets BASF SE reporting guidelines. Development and analysis of Quarterly Supplemental Information schedules for key BASF North America Group companies for Other Operating Cost, and Non-operating analyses for reporting to management. Responsible for ensuring that the Corporation’s foreign currency translations as they relate to the defined Mexico or Central American unit is correct and completed in a timely manner. Development and reporting of annual footnotes for all of the BASF North America Group companies for Other Operating Cost, and Non-operating including flux analysis with commentary which can be provided to management and BASF SE. Analysis, communication and coordination of inter-company transactions for elimination reporting relating to respective subsidiary ledgers. Preparation of Other Operating Cost, and Non-operating annual Financial Statement Review meeting presentation schedules for the major operating companies of BASF North America. Responsible for researching, and coordinating with management the development of responses for accounting issues associated with the Mexico or Central American unit that are raised by the Business groups and BASF SE. Monthly Account Analysis and Journal Entry Processing for accounts assigned to the position. Special projects and ad hoc requests as asked for by management. Support the FRC (Financial and Reporting Compliance) process as it relates to the area of responsibility.

Work environment:

Primarily works independently to coordinate on a day to day basis the development of information between the Mexico or Central American unit and the NTF/A consolidation and reporting group. Receives general guidance from the Manager of Corporate Accounting. Work is subject to review and approval from the Manager of Corporate Accounting.

Business environment:

Requires the utilization of the Corporation’s SAP system (Financial and Operational ledger) as well as the BASF SE’s CONDOR consolidation reporting system, and associated databases. Will have responsibility to maintain a current knowledge of enacted or emerging international financial reporting standards. Requires the knowledge and ability to effectively utilize Internet research tools.

Internal and external relationships:

The incumbent has responsibilities which would require interaction with all levels of the Corporate Controllers Group (NTF) as well as directors and staff of the various functional areas within BASF Corp. Based on the direction of the Manager of Corporate Accounting the incumbent would have interaction with Corporate Assistant Controller and Directors. Responsibilities will also require interaction with the Corporate NT department and BASF Group Controlling
