Sky King is seeking a strong to join our Accounting/Finance Department.  Sky King is a passenger charter airline located at the Lakeland Linder Airport in Lakeland, FL that operates a fleet of Boeing 737 aircrafts throughout the Americas.

As we seek to execute on growth opportunities, we are looking for an individual who can be a contributor immediately and as demands increase.  The primary focus of this position will be:  Accounts Receivable, Customer Reconciliations & Collections, Sales Tax and Account Reconciliations & Analysis.

Description

The will report directly to the Controller and work in conjunction with the accounting team to help ensure that timely and correct monthly financials are produced. The will provide assistance where needed to ensure that deadlines are met.

Responsibilities

Manage daily escrow draw account Compile and analyze financial information to prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger Assist with monthly and quarterly close Perform reconciliations of balance-sheet accounts, including supporting documentation Assist with the preparation and review of the monthly financial reports Prepare analysis of accounts as requested for revenue and expense accounts Assist with year-end closings Assist with the resolution of accounting discrepancies Prepare sales tax computations and returns Leader of accounts receivable Prepare, print and mail customer invoices Apply customer payments and credits, including researching and resolving payment discrepancies Place billing/collection calls Prepare customer aging report Research and resolve customer issues Assist with the preparation and coordination of the internal audit process Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures Other duties as assigned

 

 Requirements

Education and Experience

Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited University At least 4 years’ prior experience in a business environment (in the Accounting/Finance Department) Strong analytical and problem solving skills and knowledge of GAAP Excellent communication skills – must be able to effectively communicate, orally and written to all levels of employees Ability to work autonomously as well as successfully cooperate within a team environment Proficient in the intermediate use of Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Excel and Word Excellent customer service skills Positive demeanor with the ability to react appropriately to stressful situations Team player and self-starter who is accurate and detail oriented Ability to take initiative, work with little supervision and solve problems independently Proficient in time management skills with the ability to prioritize a variety of duties
