Duties and Responsibilities (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Create the Bill of Materials (BOM) for all new products and utilize Labor Routers along with Overhead calculations for standard cost settings.
Maintain and update accurate costs for all existing Bills of Material
Monitor product profitability and identify reasons for decrease in gross margin
Perform inventory variance analysis and LIFO calculations at year end
Perform and reconcile quarterly physical inventory counts
Identify and research all cost variances
Establish and set production standards
Perform other physical inventory counts as necessary
Verify scrap sales
Monitor and verify scrap levels in production
Determine allocation rates for Burden and Indirect Labor for each product group
Offer suggestions to improve all cost accounting processes.
Perform other related duties as assigned including those specifically mentioned. When duties and responsibilities change and develop, the job description will be reviewed and subject to changes related to business necessity
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience to be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed
Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of the workings of cost accounting and experience with BOMs, Labor Routers and Overhead calculations
Deadline oriented ? Ability to multi-task efficiently with the ability to effectively prioritize work on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
Education
The ideal candidate will possess five years of Cost Accounting experience. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
