Christian Care Communities is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper for our Christian Health Center located in Louisville, Kentucky.

PART I: POSITION IDENTIFICATION


PART II: POSITION SUMMARY
The is responsible for maintaining accounting records and timely collection of accounts receivable while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.


Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
1. Excellent communication skills to include:
a. Ability to speak and read English
b. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
c. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
d. Ability to speak effectively to employees, residents, family members and others
e. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
2. Working knowledge of various software programs such as Microsoft Office products including, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
3. Excellent Customer Service skills

PART IV: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent performs job responsibilities without posing a significant risk of substantial harm to the health or safety of him/her or others while maintaining compliance with all policies and procedures of Christian Care Communities and within the parameters of the Organization’s mission, vision, and values.

1. Assists in monthly closings and collections
2. Assists with various accounting functions as needed such as:
a. business office operations and assigned personnel, and in maintaining internal controls to assure compliance with established directives
b. assures accuracy and reliability of accounting records, and safeguards cash and other assets
c. cash receipts and disbursement systems, and in maintaining cash controls to protect the organization from loss
d. facility’s accounting systems, records and functions including accounts receivable, billing, collections and maintaining the resident trust fund
e. assigned resident files, records and resident billing system
f. reports, statements and documentation
g. corrective/prevention action as necessary to maintain satisfactory business office performance


 Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Preferred Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting
Required Experience: 1 year experience in billing or accounting; administrative supervision
Preferred Experience: 1 year experience in billing or accounting in health care; insurance transactions and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement systems
Business travel is a requirement of position; proof of valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
If personal vehicle is used to transport self or others; proof of insurance of $100,000 single limit of liability

1. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; lighting is in the standard range for office duties; business equipment is regularly operated (computer, copier, fax, printer, postage meter, land line and mobile phones, etc.).
2. The employee is subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, and exposure to the infectious waste, diseases and conditions, including the AIDS and Hepatitis B and C viruses.
