The purpose of this position is to conduct Feasibility Studies (FS) at Nicor Gas which utilize ICC rules and the company's tariffs to analyze cash flows and prepare rate of return analyses for gas main extensions and other facilities required to serve new and existing customers.  The position provides training for Construction personnel on how to use the FS model, New Business Authorization Form (NBA) and the Advanced Deposit Agreement (ADA).  In addition, the position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the model and coordinating cost updates with other departments.  The position also will support regulatory reporting requirements in other AGL jurisdictions. 


Functional Expertise:


Prepares and documents feasibility study projects, files and rate of return analyses
Reviews FS model accuracy and updates model with new costs on a regular basis
Provides support for annual PUC regulatory reporting requirements

Business Acumen:


Analyze data provided by other departments
Accurately calculate rates of return, construction deposits and contributions (CIACs)
Propose and develop changes to the FS model (Excel)

Engagement:


Demonstrate ability to complete feasibility studies on a timely basis working with Construction
Collaborates with Construction, Regulatory Accounting and Rates to accomplish results
Trains Construction personnel on use of the FS model, New Business Authorizations and CIACs

Driving Results:


Expedite projects by identifying gaps which require resolution
Follow-up with others to ensure gaps are resolved and feasibility studies are accurately completed
Ensure that all documentation, Excel models and costs are accurate  Requirements


Education, Certifications/Licenses:

B.S. / B.A. Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Economics 

Related Work Experience:

3 years of job related experience 

Specific Skills& Knowledge:


Required: 


Excellent Excel modeling skills.  Financial analysis skills (internal rate of return, discounted cash flows)

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS 
 
Infrequent Traveler (0-5% travel): The incumbent may be required to travel on a very limited basis.  Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
