Job DescriptionIndividual will perform analysis on a wide selection of data as this position will serve across Mercy Health System Oklahoma, which includes approximately fifteen not for profit and for profit healthcare related entities. Analysis will incorporate principles utilized in accrual accounting as well as cash basis accounting in order to accurately compute the cost benefit of programs in existence or being proposed for MHSO entities. Work must reflect an understanding of applicable federal or state rules and regulations. Interacts with wide variety of personnel at all levels within Accountingand with multiple departments across all MHSO entities. Manages mid-level to complex tasks and may direct the activities of senior accountant, staff accountant or accounting assistant. Actionshave both short-term and long-term financial ramifications. Handles confidential information
related to budgets, contracts, patient data, payroll, vendors, physicians, pricing, and other
operational information pertaining to MHSO. The financial Analyst will perform all work in
accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Mercy Health System Oklahoma. Job RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or related area is required.Three years of professional level financial management experience required. Knowledge of the preparation of accrual based financial statements. Ability to understand and analyze financial documents and systems. Must have knowledge of supervisory techniques. Working knowledge of computerized financial systems including those on mainframes (ex. Meditech and
Medic) and PC based software (ex. Excel, Access, Word,Peachtree, Quicken) required, including ability to extract data.
