This role will be relied on to bring strong analytical skills to the accounting close process. The will handle many complex accounting tasks within the department and work as a team player.

Prepares monthly P&L budget to actual variance analysis on the company's largest operating division and presents explanations to Senior Management.Calculates and records significant financial data, including tuition/housing revenue and bad debt and accruals for advertising, legal and other major expenses. Prepares unclaimed property reports by state and research related issues as they arise.Performs detailed monthly reviews and account analysis of various balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Assists with preparation of various audit schedules and response to audit inquiries for both internal and external audits. Responsible for the reconciliation, analysis and problem solving for some of the more complicated processes and accounts in the department. Responsible for the review and oversight of submission of all sales and use tax data to third-party processor, as well as play an important role in responding to state sales tax audits.Manages policies to ensure all aspects within accounting and reporting comply with GAAP and SOX and ensure all policies are reviewed and updated. Adheres to internal control/compliance policy procedures and has high consciousness/awareness of the Code of Ethics. Serve as a key resource in completing special projects and duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, graduate degree or CPA preferred. Must have a minimum of three years of experience, preferably in public accounting or with a large firm. Experience with SEC clients a plus. Must be a team player with the ability to analyze and assess processes. Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills required. Must have the ability to facilitate teamwork and cooperation at all levels within the organization and be able to work with limited supervision. Excellent PC skills are needed with proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
