National Social Security Disability advocacy seeks responsible, caring person to assist in client interviews, government claim processing, medical file development and receptionist duties.
For over 30 years, we have been assisting disabled individuals obtain their Social Security benefits. With regional offices throughout the country, due to our success, we are expanding and need additional members to join our support staff. The successful applicant must be well-spoken, compassionate, exhibit a positive demeanor and know how to make our potential clients feel important. The ability to perform several tasks at once, while maintaining accuracy, is important and a keen attention to detail is essential.
Experience dealing with the public is a must as are excellent verbal, written and telephone skills. The ideal applicant will also have the ability, via phone and in-person interviews, to extract necessary information for use in determining eligibility for government programs. General computer skills required and training will be provided.
This individual will also carry out the directives of the regional office advocate including: maintaining an open dialogue with claimants, corresponding with the claimant's treating sources to secure medical evidence, remaining in contact with the Office of Hearings and Appeals to ensure the claim is being properly processed, etc.
This position also requires that a detailed log of efforts to develop the file be maintained and that the reviewing advocate is kept informed of any and all information relevant to the claim. Other responsibilities may include logging of mail, maintaining the physical file, etc.
Requirements include the ability to prioritize and multi-task, the willingness to learn, strong phone skills, and excellent customer service skills. High volume of phone experience is also required as are general computer knowledge and the ability to type a minimum of 45 WPM. Complete training provided. Some college is a plus.

Salary: $35,000 per year
