Summary

Mortgage Servicers are responsible for the servicing of all mortgage loans on both FICS and XP systems. Knowledge of servicing guidelines and ensures that credit union policies, and procedures are executed. Support the credit union’s mission, vision, strategic goals, quality initiatives and service standards. Support and/or provide exceptional internal and external member service.

 

PercentEssential Functions30% 1. Analyze, perform, and maintain all necessary information in mortgage servicing systems FICS and Episys..

 

30% 2. Provide support for members & employees via phone, email, mortgage help desk, and in person. Performs all servicing duties as needed and is responsible for adhering to established time frames. Reconcile mortgage accounts and bank transfers pertaining to mortgages, prepayments, delinquencies, payoffs and miscellaneous pass through items. Reviews appraisals prior to loan underwriting for compliance and accuracy. Send closing documentation to tile and confirm documentation received back from title. Close Home Equity Lines of Credits.

 

20% 3. Performs the daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual duties such as the following: End of Day, End of Month, End of Year, Escrow Analysis, 1098’s, HMDA, Property Taxes, PMI & escrow disbursements.

 

10% 4. Assumes responsibility in the selling and servicing of Fannie Mae loans and is in accordance with Fannie Mae Guidelines.

 

PercentNon-essential Functions

 

10% 1. May perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input & ordering supplies, forms, and disclosures, send out Fed Ex packages, print all incoming appraisals, and other duties as assigned.

 

Expectations

1.       Provide courteous and professional service by establishing positive and supportive relationships with internal and external members. Loan processing functions are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

2.       Files, reports, records, and all related documents are accurate, current and submitted on time, following the guidelines established in the Real Estate Policy. Keep members and realtors properly informed of Credit Union policies and procedures. Notifies members of additional information required.

3.       Ensures due diligence has occurred for fraud prevention, security and protection of member’s information.

 Requirements

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent

Experience: Four years previous financial industry or related experience including one year of mortgage loan processing. 


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Understanding of basic loan servicing functions, knowledge of mortgage related  procedures, and basic processes. FFCU complies with the SAFE Act requirements and requires that all employees and volunteers who meet the definition of a MLO (Mortgage Loan Originator - individual who takes a residential mortgage loan application and offers or negotiates terms or a residential mortgage loans) to be registered with the NMLSR (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry). Results of criminal background checks are available with completed registration. The credit union will review completed registration (including background check results) to ensure that there is no increased risk based on the results of a completed registration. Management will determine if action is necessary based on a review by the SAFE Act Officer.
