Do you have an eye for detail and love to travel? We're seeking an , who will perform site audits at our properties.

Job Summary:

 

This position performs on-site property audits and other internal audits. Communication skills required include advanced writing skills, and ability to present information verbally to diverse audiences. Requires up to 50% travel, during specific times, including travel overnight. Travel schedules are contingent upon audit needs and occasionally require the ability to travel on short notice.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 

1.  Property Audits

Perform property audits as assigned, and within scope of current Internal Audit Plan (subject to periodic revision) Interview management and operating personnel to validate compliance with ELS policies and procedures. Review assets & revenues and applicable records for completeness Conduct appropriate inventories of cash, assets, sites, documents and reports and reconcile to corporate records Conduct post-audit resolution meetings with appropriate member of management Write, rate, finalize and distribute audit reports to property, corporate and regional management according to audit plan Conduct, or assist in conducting, fraud investigations as necessary. This may include but may not be limited to: filing initial police reports, providing detailed documentation/evidence to police, attorneys and the criminal courts, as well as participating as a witness in depositions and or hearing/trial proceedings. 2. Corporate Audits

Participate in the development of internal audit programs, perform internal audits in the corporate offices; and prepare reports of results of a variety of corporate functions as needed.3.  Administrative/Other

Assist with planning tasks for audit and testing processes. Participate in team meetings as required. Participate in company functions, meetings, as required. Maintain specified tracking reports; T&E reports, and other documents as required. Use professional communication including a proper phone and in person greeting and professional written communications. Work independently and professionally in locations remote and separate from supervisor. 

Other Duties

 

Perform testing of controls per the audit program and SOX 404 requirements Interview management and operating personnel to validate compliance Assist Internal Audit department with other projects, as assigned. Other duties as assigned
   Requirements

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in accounting, finance or related field. 2- 5 years experience in real estate or property management preferred. Language Skills -Ability to read, analyze, and test written information, data and other information related to SOX compliance and property audits.  Ability to write reports, and business correspondence as required.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from executives, management, property managers and law enforcement as appropriate. Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and other analytical statistics.   Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems relevant to audit procedures and needs: collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, you should have above average ability to perform word processing and data entry into spreadsheets, Microsoft Word and Excel required.  Must possess knowledge of sending and receiving email as well as retrieving information from the Internet. Other Skills and Abilities - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with Management, co-workers, law enforcement officers, attorneys and officers of the criminal court systems.  Possess excellent organization and project management skills, time management, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work independently and professionally without proximity to supervisor. Must possess a current driver’s license with a good driving record.
