Directs all aspects of accounting operations in partnership with the Global Financial Controller. Preparation of annual financial forecasts and continual iprovement of the financial accounting systems required to maintain reporting requirements. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Provides tax, insurance and other reports required by governmental regulations.
Reports to: Site General Manager and functionally to Global Operations Finance Controller
Manages General Accounting activities at Site
including, A/P, A/R, Cost, Fixed Assets, and G/L. Supervises staff of 6. Responsible for analysis and review of Gross Margin by manufacturing facility, customer and product line, manages and analyzes site P&L's focusing on achieving forecasted targets and facilitates factory management in meeting financial goals.Manages manufacturing metrics and analyzes global cost records to support decision making to reduce costs and improve profitability.Ensures the integrity of the company's global inventory accounts, and analyzes the related cost of goods sold in accordance with GAAP. Prepares inventory analysis, reviews slow-moving inventory and participates in E&O reduction programs.Takes a strong role in supporting and partnering with the General Manager and site leadership team of the Phoenix Manufacturing Site in defining and managing budget and participates in monthly budget reviews and annual budget development processSurfaces opportunities for cost controls (e.g., cogs, scrap, overhead) and alerts management in a timely manner with respect to significant trends in key metrics, both unfavorable as well as favorable.Manages and reviews Operational KPI's focused on efficiency and OTD.Reviews and monitors labor, material and overhead costsResponsible for estimates of new or proposed product costs and ensures integrity of BOM's.Performs make/buy and other differential cost analyses.Participates in programs focusing on profit rationalization by part or customer and improving gross margin.Works with the finance team to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the cost accounting system in an ERP environment. The emphasis is on becoming as automated and efficient as possible, to have zero defects and to eliminate manual processes, except as backup.Works with finance team and site Supply Chain Director to coordinates the physical inventory and cycle count activity of all Raw Material, Work in Process and Finished GoodsActively participates in S&OP and Pace processesParticipates in the annual budget activitiesResponsible for the month end closing activities in OracleResponsible for site SOX controls and complianceSupports corporate financial reporting requirements
Skills and Requirements: Must possess strong analytical ability and affinity for working with financial dataStrong PC Skills - Excel, Word, AccessCost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, using a standard cost systemExperience with Oracle, Cognos and Demantra or other similar systemsGood organizational skillsSelf-motivated; able to work independently with minimal supervision
Degree Required : 4-year Accounting degree; Advanced Degree/Credential: CMA, CPA or MS, MBA a plus
Experience Required: 10 years or more combined experience in cost accounting positions of increasing responsibility, working closely with plant controllers and senior manufacturing staff in an automated environment.5 years or more experience as a site controller
