Position Summary:

The Income Tax Senior position exists to facilitate the Company’s income tax related matters. The position’s primary responsibilities will encompass facilitating and preparing income tax filings in compliance with all federal, state and local tax laws while minimizing the income tax liability through sound and informed application of tax laws and regulations, as well as assisting with the income tax provision process for financial reporting purposes.

Areas of Responsibility

Assist with tax provision preparation process on a quarterly and annual basis to ensure compliance with tax related GAAP pronouncements FAS109, FIN48 and FAS123R, including reconciliation of tax related general ledger accounts and preparation of financial statement disclosures. Facilitate income and franchise tax compliance with outside service providers, including filing of tax returns, extensions and estimated payments. Manage and coordinate federal, state and local income/franchise tax related audits. Minimize tax liabilities through sound and informed application of tax laws and regulations permitting alternate treatment of taxable items, including working with Income Tax Manager, outside tax consultants, other Departments and senior management on communication and implementation of tax planning projects. Perform and document research for audit positions, compliance filing positions and planning opportunities, including communication of the same with senior management. Review the outputs of the Company’s tax fixed asset system and coordinate with Fixed Asset Department to ensure proper tax calculation. Facilitate correspondence with taxing authorities related to notices. Assist outside service provider with calculation of various income tax credits. Interact with other Departments and Market office personnel as needed. Facilitate special projects and other reporting needs as necessary. Assist with documentation, control design and control testing necessary to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404. Coordination and tracking of Hydrogen Fuel Cell purchases and related Fed/State incentives. Review of the tax calendar to monitor and ensure timely tax return filings.

Minimum Education/Certifications/Knowledge Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Advanced degree preferred) Public accounting background (preferred)

Minimum Experience/Skill Requirements:

Minimum one year of corporate tax accounting experience, including some Big 4 time Effective written and oral communications skills Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines Detail oriented Project management skills Strong problem-solving and adaptive thinking skills Strong technology skills, including proficient understanding of Excel
