Job DescriptionFinancial Analyst: Full-time days, 80 hrs. ppp.Under direction of the Vice President, Finance, use problem-solving and analytical analysis to
support decision making and practice improvement activities of the Clinics Division. This position will receive instructions for special projects and analyses directly from the Operations Vice Presidents and Vice President, Finance. Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Service areas include business plan development, physician compensation plan development, analysis and communications. Performs related duties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Job RequirementsEducation: BS degree in Accounting-or related field, MBA beneficial.
Licensure: CPA beneficial.
Experience: Five to seven years experience in finance area of a healthcare entity. Experience in financial planning and capital investment analysis. General understanding of managed care issues and physician billing methods and reports.
Experience working with IDX billing system, Excel spreadsheets and Access database programs. Competent in Powerpoint and Word programs, used to prepare presentation materials. Experience in preparing graphs and analyzing trends reported in
graphic format or financial statement format.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Critical thinking and problemsolving skills. Ability to perform financial analyses and identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and/or efficiencies. Ability to compose correspondence using accepted rules of grammar, sentence structure and spelling. Demonstrated ability to use high level word processor, database, spreadsheet, and Powerpoint software. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks at one time. Able to operate in high energy environment with work demands while maintaining a professional demeanor. Capable of teamwork when required but able to be creative and independent as required. This position requires a highly
organized and accurate individual.
Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Frequent mobility in accessing files and equipment. Prolonged sitting, walking, and standing. Some stooping reaching, climbing, and bending.
