Private Bank Supervisory Manager Chicago, Il
The Private Bank is currently seeking a VP level Supervisory Manager role. The position will be based in our Chicago, Il location. This role will partner closely with managers for the team , compliance and other areas private bank. Supervisory responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Approval of new accounts and account updates: Review all new client accounts and related documentation for completeness and accuracy. Review and approve account updates and provide feedback on any accounts not approved.
Trading review and approvals. Daily review of all brokerage trading activity via trade blotter and exception reports
Monthly review of active trading accounts. Review pre-selected accounts, review and follow up as appropriate.
Review/Approval of correspondence: Responsible for review of all incoming/outgoing client correspondence (via mail, fax, email, and delivery). Review is to ensure that correspondence meets existing regulatory requirements and firm standards. This includes review, sign off and maintaining correspondence files. Responsible for addressing any issues relating to client correspondence.
Review of marketing materials and presentations- Work with compliance and marketing for clients specific and general presentations
Error review and resolution. Complete inquiry, taking the necessary market action to close out an error, and writing up the error report
Review and respond to client inquires/issues. This includes all written and verbal complaints or inquires. The SM will coordinate with compliance, legal and other areas of the Private Bank to reach an appropriate resolution.
Special products: The SM will be responsible for approval of clients for IPO New Issues, 144A (QIB eligibility) securities , dealing with special restricted stock situations, review of clients prior to investing in Structured products and review and approval of clients for options. The SM will also assist compliance with the training and implementation of Dodd-Frank related policy changes.
Alternative investments approvals. The SM will review and determine approval for Alternative Investments by clients. This includes review of the client's profile, investment objectives, financials and current investment concentration. SM will complete pre- approval and document exceptions to marketing guidelines.
Audits- coordinator for internal, compliance or external brokerage audits. Work with regional Control office as necessary for bank side audits.
Training/Education: Provide training to new employees, assist with continuing education requirements, and providing special training as warranted on specific topics.
Special projects- Work with other SMs or independently on special projects or assignments as determined by management or based on a discovered need.
Approval of employee trading: Review and approve employee trading . Assist with review of outside business activity request.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in the industry. Individual must be self-confidant and work as part of the regional team. Be willing to work with colleagues to find solutions. Must be comfortable working in a stressful, deadline driven environment. Travel of up to 3 days per month required.
