Manager - Search & Taxonomy

 

Job Description:

Responsible for managing the day-to-day search and taxonomy operations on HSN.com. Drive improvements in customer experience, move customers deeper into the site (product page views per session), and optimize the search to cart conversion funnel.  Establish a taxonomy that aligns with the way that customers shop, as well as how our merchants need to present and promote products. This includes the Top Navigation of the site as well as navigational elements within Storefronts.  Evaluate and react to what customers are searching for and leverage internal search engine and proprietary tools to optimize the experience and business results.  Coordinate these actions between Merchandising, Marketing, Content, Web Analytics, Product Management and Technology.

Job Responsibilities

 

Monitor and react to changes in site search and taxonomy performance across platforms based on web analytics on multiple platforms customer surveys
Key Metrics

 -Number of Zero Results Searches
 -Product Views from Search/Taxonomy
 -Conversion through search funnel

Perform Competitive Analysis Evaluate Search & Taxonomy for Usability Improvements Score search results based on Relevance, Array of Brands, Customer Rating, etc. Develop deep understanding of  Endeca and Proprietary tools  Drive process and business optimization regarding search/taxonomy based on the capabilities of available tools Configure and test searches by way of technical/administration interfaces. Create and maintain a document repository for all search documentation on Share Point Manage Search Redirects Manage Thesaurus Entries Manage Zero Search Results Manage Top Search Exit Pages

 

 RequirementsQualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 2-5 years of Ecommerce experience Experience with Endeca or similar on-site search engines 2-5 years of experience with Web Analytics  (Coremetrics/Omniture); Merchandising experience preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills High-energy Assertive Analytical Detail Oriented Strong Presentation Skills Thrive in cross-functional work environment Keep up-to-date on new UX search trends & practices
